From icons to legends.
Halloween Made Easy: 3 Looks to Try This Year
Alexandra Wagner
It's that time of year again when makeup becomes more than just makeup. Halloween is the perfect excuse to try what you'd never wear to the office, mix colors you've never mixed before, and remember that a good makeup look is the costume itself.
And if you didn't know, this is a big year for Halloween. The most iconic witches are back in cinemas, The Rocky Horror Picture Show turns 50, and the world seems more than ready for a little color, chaos, and fun. We truly live in wonderful times.
This year, we're keeping it easy and fun with three Halloween looks anyone can try. They're simple enough for beginners, but you can take them to a pro level if you feel like going one step further.
LOOK 1: ALL BLACK EVERYTHING
If you ask us, black eyeliner is highly underrated. It works for infinite graphic looks, and when Halloween comes around, it never fails.
Step 1: Trace the entire outline of the eye with The 24H Pen Eyeliner, including the upper and lower lash lines. Extend the line towards the crease to visually lift the gaze.
Step 2: Once you have the shape, draw small peaks or spikes around it for a sharper, more dramatic effect. Keep your hand steady and clean up the edges with a cotton swab if needed.
Step 3: Apply The 24H Eye Stick 900 on the lower waterline (the inner part of the eyelid) to intensify the black and add more depth.
Step 4: Outline the lips with The Automatic Lip Pencil 900 or apply The Lipstick 900 directly. Add a lighter shade (like 503) in the center and blend inwards with your finger to create an ombré effect.
Step 5: Finish with The Color Lip Oil 100 for a glossy finish that reflects light.
LOOK 2: DOLLHOUSE DIVA
Theatrical, camp, and very Halloween. As it should be. Or as Dr. Frank-N-Furter would say: “don’t dream it, be it.”
Step 1: Apply a thin layer of white or translucent powder all over the face for an even finish and that porcelain effect.
Step 2: With The No-Rules Powder 385, apply color to the center of the cheeks with a brush or your fingers. Keep the color concentrated in that area for a Victorian-style blush. Don't blend it too much, just soften the edges.
Step 3: With your finger or a brush, apply The 24H Color Liquid Eyeshadow 482 onto the eyelids, from the crease downwards, blending gently. For a more intense gradient, use The 24H Eye Stick 900 on the upper part of the crease, draw a thick line, and blend downwards.
Step 4: Line with The Color Pen Eyeliner 482 to create a clean cat eye. Start from the inner corner, follow the lash line, and finish with a small flick upwards. If you want more intensity, go over the outer corner with The 24H Pen Eyeliner.
Step 5: Apply The Every Single Day Mascara to lift and define lashes (or, if you prefer to match the eyeliner, try The Color Mascara 482). One or two coats will suffice.
Step 6: With The No-Rules Powder 385, gently follow the natural shadow under your eyes for a tired doll effect. Then use The Color Pen Eyeliner 100 to highlight just above it for more dimension.
Step 7: Dab a touch of The Lipstick 575 in the center of your lips and blend slightly with your finger to create a "doll's mouth" shape. Add The Color Lip Oil 244 on top for a soft shine.
Step 8: Set everything with The Fixing Spray to keep the look intact.
LOOK 3: BABY SUGAR WITCH
Don't talk to us, we're in our Glinda era. This look is all about pink tones, shiny textures, and just the right amount of sparkle. Plus, it's perfect for beginners.
Step 1: Apply The No-Rules Powder 371 to the apples of your cheeks with a soft brush. Blend slightly towards the temples for a more lifted effect. Then, with your finger or a small brush, use the same shade on your eyelids for a monochromatic pink finish. Shades 362 or 503 also work very well.
Step 2: Draw a liner with The 24H Pen Eyeliner. Start with a thin line on the upper lashes. When you reach the end of the eye, extend the line diagonally following the direction of the lower lash line. Connect the tip with the upper line to form a small triangle and fill it in. Repeat on the other eye.
Step 3: Apply The Every Single Day Mascara from root to tip. Wiggle the brush slightly as you go up to separate and lift the lashes. You can apply a second coat or curl your lashes beforehand if you prefer.
Step 4: Outline your lips with The Automatic Lip Pencil 503, starting from the Cupid's bow and extending outwards. If you want to add more volume, outline just outside your natural lip line. Leave the center of the lips unfilled.
Step 5: Apply The Color Lip Oil 362 over top for a glossy, rosy finish that leaves lips juicy and natural.
Step 6: Use The No-Rules Bling Stick, our limited Holiday edition, on your collarbones for a touch of shimmer. You can also apply it to your cheekbones as a highlighter.
Step 7: Spray The Fixing Spray all over your face to set your makeup and keep it intact throughout the night.
And you're ready, toss toss.
